Grand Master Mitchum - Flag Presentation:
The Wayland Isshin-Ryu Family presented Grand Master Mitchum a
special United Sates flag at the 2010 IHOF Banquet as a symbol of
appreciation for his selfless dedication to our great nation and
Isshin~Ryu Karate-Do.
The shadow box was constructed by a master furniture maker and
encases a flag flown over the following locations on the fifth
anniversary of the 9/11 attacks: World Trade Center (Ground Zero);
Shanksville, PA (Crash Site Flight 93); Pentagon; and the United
States Capitol. This is the last of fifty similar flags, of which
some are displayed in a former Director of the Central Intelligence
Agency's private office; offices of members of law enforcement and
intelligence officers; and now three Isshin~Ryu Masters (Grand
Master Harold Mitchum, Grand Master Tom Lewis and Master John
Bartusevics).
