Dr. Maung Gyi hosted the Isshin-Ryu / Bando Friendship Tournament in
1970. This picture shows the awards presented to both men at the event.
This picture was used to remake two very similar plaques
that will be awarded to the most
outstanding Black Belt and Kyu
rank student at the June 28, 2008,
Don Bohan /
Rick Niemira Memorial Karate Championships. The awards
were constructed from a pair
of Master Don Bohan's Sai and two of Master Rick Niemira's Kukri.
