Tokumura Kensho Sensei, 9th Dan

Okinawa, Japan

In March of 2009 on Okinawa, Tokumura Kensho Sensei founded the idea of the Isshin-Ryu Tomo No Kai (Isshin-Ryu Friendship Association).

Tokumura Sensei, 9th Dan, a respected Goju Ryu and Kobudo teacher on Okinawa, had studied Isshin-Ryu Karatedo for 30 years with the bulk of his Isshin-Ryu training under it's founder Shimabuku Tatsuo Sensei. Tokumura Sensei felt the need to support Isshin-Ryu Karatedo and have a venue for his Tokushin Kobudo. Thus, he started the Isshin-Ryu Tomo No Kai.

To build a strong foundation, Tokumura Sensei asked several of his dojomates from the old Agena, Okinawa Isshin-Ryu Headquarters of Shimabuku Tatsuo Sensei to assist him as Advisors for the new Association. They are: Sensei Harold Mitchum, 10th Dan - Sensei Tom Lewis, 9th Dan - Sensei John Bartusevics, 8th Dan & Sensei Jake Eckenrode, 6th Dan. Never since the origins of the American Okinawan Karate Association in the early 1960's on Okinawa has an Isshin-Ryu Association been supported by such a knowledgeable and historical Advisory Board.

The Isshin-Ryu Tomo No Kai is already receiving world wide support. Connect your Isshin-Ryu Karate and RyuKyu Kobudo directly to Okinawa through the Isshin-Ryu Tomo No Kai.
