Biography of Master Alain-André Feschet
Alain-André began studying martial arts when he was only four and a half years old. His career began in September of 1958 in his father’s Judo-Ju Jutsu dojo. Just two years later he started learning Karate Shotokan and participated in his first Judo tournament.
From 1973 to 1974 Alain-André was drafted in the French Army (6th regiment of paratroopers, 6em RPIMa).
Later in 1975, Alain-André came to North America (Canada and USA) to study chiropractic and participate at many open Karate tournaments and started fighting in kickboxing under the PKA and WKA rules. Master Feschet competed as a pro kickboxing fighter until 1992.
In the 80’s Master Feschet became a Bando student first with Jon Collins then with Saya U Maung Gyi. This led him in 1985 to be named in charge of European Bando by Saya Gyi. By January of 2008 Saya Gyi named Alain-André in charge of the World Bando Thaing Letwei Federation. Master Fetchet still studies Bando with Saya Gyi.
Personal Awards: Competes in many tournaments in Judo, Ju Jutsu and Karate (won many National and international titles), competed as pro kickboxer from 1976 to 1992.
Championships: World light heavyweight kickboxing champion (1989 – 1991)
